Access 5.0
Fall 2006
In recent years, conventional user interfaces have been developed that enable fluent, spoken conversations between humans and machines. Although all spoken dialogue systems can be considered conversational to some degree, they vary in the amount of control the user has over the conversation.

Access 5.0 delivers a conversational user interface that allows users to access email in a voice-based phone system. For the project, we conducted research on conversational voice interfaces and generated design guidelines to aid our design. We chose undercover cops as our market domain.
