Plasticity

2005

Plasticity is part of a series of fashion photography prints for Lunar Gala, a large-scale annual fashion show to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The theme for the 2005 show was "Time". This piece was projected as part of the show's Print selection. I wanted to make a statement on beauty and fashion in the transcience of time. Rather than glorifying the coming of age, society masks it with plastic surgery and chemicals.

For this piece, I experimented with makeup and materials. The eyelashes are made of paper mache and acrylic.The face and lips are covered with gel combined with powder. I photographed the model and digitally rendered the image
